August 2023:
MHS
We are excited to share with you that Milton High School will continue with our one-to-one Chromebook initiative (1:1) for all ninth and tenth grade students next year. In adopting this model, all ninth and tenth grade students will receive a school-issued Chromebook that they will take to and from school on a daily basis. Ninth and tenth grade students will not be allowed to bring their own device to school. Incoming ninth grade students and new tenth grade students will receive their Chromebook the first day of school in advisory.
Pierce
In an effort to sustain the life of the Pierce Chromebooks, students will not be allowed to take their Chromebook home with them during the 2023-2024 school year. If your family does not have a device that your student will be able to use to complete homework assignments, please complete this short Google Form to declare that your family will need to sign out a Chromebook for the 2023-2024 school year. The Chromebook will remain at home for the entire year and will not be brought back and forth to school. The Chromebook will be returned to Pierce at the end of the school year.
Once again, only complete this Google Form if your family does not have a device at home that your student can use to complete homework assignments. Families who declare their need for a Chromebook at home will have their student pick up the Chromebook after school in the Pierce Library on Wednesday, August 30th and Thursday, August 31st from 2:30 p.m.-2:45 p.m. Thank you for your help with this initiative. All students and families are expected to fill out the 2023-24 Pierce Chromebook Loan Agreement.
Elementary
All elementary students will be assigned a Chromebook for the 2023-24 school year. Elementary Chromebooks are stored in the classroom unless a teacher requires their students to complete an assignment at home, or we have to switch to hybrid/ remote learning.
Optional Chromebook insurance will be offered to all students loaning a Chromebook. It is highly encouraged to purchase insurance for their school-issued Chromebook. Insurance costs $30 per student per year. If insurance is declined, students are held responsible for damage beyond reasonable wear and tear as outlined in the Loan Agreement. Chromebook insurance for the 2023-24 school year can be purchased HERE.
