Before break, the MHS courtyard was transformed into a stage for the Poetry Club’s second annual Open Mic, an evening filled with moving verses and plenty of laughs. The night was a resounding success, highlighted by a standout performance from Slam Poetry winner Jacky Yang.
This event wouldn't have been possible without a massive team effort. We want to extend a huge thank you to Mike Buzzell (our head custodian) and Dobie Illich (photographer) for their support, as well as Mr. Collyer’s Tech Club for their expert stage and equipment setup. We also want to celebrate our graduating senior leaders—August Alvarova, Oliver Jones, El Craghead-Goldman, Markaysa Porter, and Shannon Hale—for an unforgettable "last hurrah." Finally, a special shoutout goes to Daniel Ruiz, who worked closely with Mr. Cunningham to help the evening run smoothly.
