Student Arrival Details

Arrival will begin at 8:35 a.m. for a 8:50 a.m. start to the school day for preK-5 students.

Tucker faculty members will be along Oak Street  where the car drop off will be as well as in the playground area and front of the school to safely direct students to their teachers. Please pull all they way to the corner of Oak st. and Blue Hills Pkway.

Families should pull to a safe stop, allow their children or assist their children to exit on the sidewalk side of the car and then students should proceed to either the front or back door. Families are not allowed to stop and walk with children to the gate while other cars and families are waiting behind.

  • Students arriving on a bus will disembark at the front of the school. Tucker staff will assist them with going to their appropriate grade level location.

Student Dismissal Details
  • Regular Dismissal-Students  will be dismissed by 3:19 p.m. Students will line up by class on the rear playground. PreK and Kindergarten students will be lined up closest to the building and the grades will go from there all the way into the soccer pitch.
  • The main playground gate will be opened at 3:10 p.m. for parent/guardians to walk in and pick up their student(s). Once you enter and find your child's class line please  make eye contact or wave so that the teacher can see that students are being safely dismissed. All families are asked to exit through the rear gates to create a safe flow of traffic. Students in Gr. 4/5 who self-dismiss will be asked to leave the ground promptly. Students in Grades 4 or 5  that are picking up a sibling will be assisted in finding and successfully exiting the school playground to establish a safe route and routine. Recognizing that more than one child may need to be picked up we ask that once students have been picked up they remain with their parent/guardian away from the dismissal area in order to minimize traffic. Additionally, during the dismissal windows 3:10-3:30 p.m. we ask that families do not utilize the playground area. Whenever possible we will maintain regular dismissal outside. However, if the weather is truly inclement we will follow a staggered schedule with the youngest students exiting first and being picked up under the rear entry space.
  • Bus Students-As a reminder the expectation is that all bus riders must hold a district issued bus pass. Bus passes will have not only the bus route, but the cohort of the rider and an assigned bus seat. These expectations will be confirmed prior to students boarding the bus.

Early Dismissal-in the event that your child needs to be dismissed prior to 3:19 p.m. please email his/her homeroom teacher and cc our administrative assistant Mrs. Keaney (ekeaney@miltonps.org). Please come to the front main office door for dismissal and ring the bell. Your child will be brought to you and your signature will be required in the front vestibule. Please plan to present ID as requested.

Early Dismissal from the nurse- In the event that your child needs to be dismissed prior to 3:19 p.m. from the nurse’s office please come to the front main door to alert us to your arrival and await dismissal instructions. Please plan to present ID as requested.
