BOKS!  (grades K-5)

Offered in both the fall and spring, BOKS is a physical activity program aiming at preparing children for a day of learning!  Inspired by Dr. John Ratey's book, "Spark", BOKS is filled with team-oriented games and provides plenty of opportunity for play, since the program focuses on fun!  Classes are held in the morning in the gym from 7:45-8:30 Wednesdays and Fridays.  

 

Morning Math League (grades 2-5)

Offered in both the fall and spring, Morning Math League meets on Tuesdays from 7:45-8:30.  The focus of this group is for students to work in grade level teams to strategize around and solve complicated math problems.  Family volunteers are always welcome, too!

 

Math Games (grades K-2)

Tucker School offers a six week enrichment opportunity for students in K-grade 2 on Thursdays after school from 3:30-4:30.  The students iwll be working on differentmath skills through board games, card games, and strategy activities that will promote social skills, math enrichment, and of course...fun!

 

Saturday Academy (grade 3)

Offered in both the fall and spring, all grade 3 students are invited to participate in six sessions of project-based learning!  Focusing on either Math or ELA, students will engage in activities and group learning around a topic.  Following their Math/ELA, all students will participate in a Science lesson/activity to wrap up the morning.  Beginning in March and concluding in April, the classes will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Tucker School.

 

Science Fair Club (grades 3-5)

This club is for students who are interested in creating a Science project fo the Fair (March 13th) but culd use some support in developing and working through a 'Testable Question'.  Students will be provided with guidance, some materials and diretion in how to create and present their work.  

 

Tucker Robotics (grade 2)

Students are invited to this hands-on opportunity to interact with, explore, apply and expand knowledge of coding and robotics!  All students in grade 2 are welcome to participate in this six week enrichment opportunity.

 

Grade 4 Chorus

All 4th graders are invited to join Mr. Good from 11:50-12:40 (Recess/Lunchtim) on Fridays to be a part of Chorus.  There are no auditions for this chorus, all are welcome!  Students will learn about the parts of a chorus and how to work together to make music through singing.

 

Grades 4 and 5 Book Clubs

Tucker School will be offering a six week enrichment opportuity for Grad 4 and 5 students during lunch and recess once per week.  Grade 4 students will read James and the Giant Peach and grade 5 students will read A Wrinkle in Time.  Students will spend time together reading and discussing the book.  The book club will culminate with students having the option to watch the film version of each book and do a text related activity.
