The district has designated May 12 – May 30, 2025, for the acceptance of the re-establishment of residency documents. All details can be found on the Re-establishment page on the MPS website.
The Milton Public Schools Residency Policy states that students who are enrolled in the Milton Public Schools and in Out of District placements shall be required to re-establish residency prior to entering grade three (3), six (6) and/or grade nine(9).
Students who attend Blue Hill Regional Technical School or Norfolk Agricultural School must re-establish residency every year, regardless of grade level.
In an effort to comply with MPS School Committee Policy and to make this more manageable for families, we have streamlined the residency re-establishment process. This process is one of the safeguards used by the Milton Public Schools to ensure that all students enrolled in our schools or funded by our budget (in the case of Blue Hills Regional Technical School and Norfolk Agricultural School) are residents of the Town of Milton. We recognize that the re-establishment process may be an inconvenience for families, but we hope that residents understand that this is a valuable tool to protect the taxpayers in the Town of Milton.
To re-establish residency, please review the list of documents linked here that can be used to prove residency in the Town of Milton. There are three ways to deliver your documents:
Scan the documents to residency@miltonps.org OR
Put all the necessary documents in a sealed envelope and place them in the lockbox, which is located outside the main entrance of Milton High School, OR
For families who are unable to upload the documents, the registrar will be available on Wednesday, May 28th and Thursday, May 29th, from 5-7 pm at Milton High School to accept the Re-establishment residency documents.
Re-establishment of residency documents must be submitted no later than May 30, 2025, to ensure your child’s continued enrollment in the Milton Public Schools.
If you have any questions or need further information regarding the process, please contact the MPS Registrar, Sarina Burke at 617-696-4470 ext. 5516 or residency@miltonps.org. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
