Participants engaged in a hands-on budgeting simulation that provided practical knowledge regarding monthly expenses, lifestyle choices, and financial planning. This interactive experience allowed students to learn the realities of budgeting, saving, and investing while preparing for life's unexpected costs. It was also a rewarding professional networking experience and a fun event for students to participate in on the day before April break.

What’s The Drowsy Chaperone About?
Feeling a little down, the “Woman in the Chair” puts on the cast album of her favorite musical, the fictional The Drowsy Chaperone. As the record plays, the show magically comes to life right in her apartment. Throw in two lovebirds on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, gangsters disguised as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan, and of course a drowsy chaperone, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a night full of laughs.
️Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Golden Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another!

This event wouldn't have been possible without a massive team effort. We want to extend a huge thank you to Mike Buzzell (our head custodian) and Dobie Illich (photographer) for their support, as well as Mr. Collyer’s Tech Club for their expert stage and equipment setup. We also want to celebrate our graduating senior leaders—August Alvarova, Oliver Jones, El Craghead-Goldman, Markaysa Porter, and Shannon Hale—for an unforgettable "last hurrah." Finally, a special shoutout goes to Daniel Ruiz, who worked closely with Mr. Cunningham to help the evening run smoothly.

A few highlights:
Sara Khan was awarded the outstanding debater award in the House and Kayla Nguyen won the outstanding delegate award in the Senate. Sasha Carino also won the Outstanding Media Core Delegate award for her hard work at the conference.
Equally impressive, Milton students won the awards for best bills in both the House and Senate. Layla Raymond won the award for her bill to remove parking space mandates to make more space available for residential housing and green spaces. Daria Malik won the award for her bill to provide a financial safety net to protect residents seeking to move from low paying jobs to higher paying jobs without facing the financial burden of immediate termination of state benefits.
Huge kudos also go to club founder Angela Truong, who won one of three service awards granted - the Servant Leadership award for her effectiveness and humility in growing the club and supporting not just Milton students but all students at the conference.
Finally, 11 Milton students were nominated to participate in national conferences this summer. Layla Raymond, Ava Cheng and Catheline Daniel were nominated to attend the National Judicial Conference, focusing on the role of the judiciary in the government. Angela Truong, Averlyn Truong, Danica Carino, Kagan Brien, Sara Khan Sophie Shaw and Sasha Carino and Layla Raymond were nominated to attend the Conference on National Affairs, focusing on the role of the legislative branch.
Thank you to club advisor H. Hardie and congratulations to our students on their impressive work this year!

This immersive experience served as a powerful bridge to our Personal Finance curriculum and the Investment Club's focus on investing by allowing students to see classroom concepts like asset allocation and risk management applied in a live, professional environment. By engaging with collegiate mentors and observing real-time trading operations, MHS students gained invaluable insights into the complexities of professional-grade market analysis.

In addition to an informational session that included learning about high school courses, extracurricular opportunities, and resources, 8th graders enjoyed several activities and a Q&A session with MHS seniors.
