Bus Registration

Bus Registration for the 2026/27 school year will be open from May 15 through June 30, 2026 in the Powerschool Parent/Guardian Portal. If you have not created a parent/guardian Powerschool account, please reach out to your school’s administrative assistant for your child’s access codes.

Once logged on to the portal, the Bus Registration Form can be accessed this way: FORMS →GENERAL FORMS→BUS REGISTRATION. See tutorial attachment here. Please note that each individual student must be registered separately.

Completion of registration is not a guarantee of a seat. After the registration period closes on June 30, the transportation department will review all routes and ridership numbers and update registered families.

Registration is a TWO step process: (1)Register in Powerschools and (2) Payment on Unipay

  • All families wishing to have their student(s) ride the bus in the 2026-2027 school year must register through the parent Powerschool portal, regardless of ridership in the 2025-2026 school year.

  • Registration will close on Tuesday, June 30.  Any registrations after June 30 will be subject to a $50 late fee and be added to the wait list. Late registrants should not pay the appropriate fee or late fee until you receive a confirmation email that your student has been taken off the waitlist and secured a pass.

  • Bus passes will only be issued to students at the ONE residence which is their officially registered address with the Milton Public Schools.

  • In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws governing school transportation, the Milton Public Schools provides free bus service to and from school for all students in K - 6 who live two miles or greater from their home to assigned school. The remaining seats will be filled based on distance from school with priority given to students living farthest from their assigned school on each route.

  • Completing bus registration prior to June 30 does not guarantee a seat on the bus for students in grades K to 6 living less than 2 miles from school and any students in Grades 7 to 12 as spots will be filled based on distance from school, with priority given to students living farthest from their assigned school on each route.

  • All applicable bus fees must be paid at the time of registration, if registering before June 30.  (Please DO NOT pay fee & late fee if registering after June 30, 2026. You will be notified if a pass will be available, and then make payment)

  • Students with a negative lunch balance must settle their accounts to receive a bus pass

  • Routes and stops will be posted on the transportation page of the Milton public schools website, along with information for the First View APP in mid August.

In the 2026-2027 school year, we will follow all DESE safety protocols. Students will not be permitted to ride the bus without an active bus pass and will be required to present the pass to board the bus. Riding the bus is a privilege with the expectation of good conduct and respectful behavior. Inappropriate behavior on the bus may result in the revocation of bus privileges without refund of bus fee paid.

We appreciate your prompt attention to registering your child(ren) for the bus in PowerSchool. Please email bus@miltonps.org with any questions.
