We are excited to kick off our Summer Reading Challenge with the Milton Public Library! This is a fun and free way to track your child's reading using the reading platform Beanstack. The Challenge runs through August 19, and participation in this program is required summer work for all Milton elementary students finishing grades K-5 in school year 2025-2026. Incoming kindergarteners are encouraged but not required to participate.
Mr. Coben, our elementary librarian, taught lessons to all classes about the Summer Reading Challenge, talking about book selection, recording minutes, library events, and more. After that lesson, students (and families) had "homework" - completing this form sharing whether they were able to access their accounts, sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, or if they need assistance to sign up.
Challenge begins on 6/18 and ends on 8/19
Celebration: August 12th at 3pm - Magician (prizes are awarded and it’s very clear in all communications)
Logging will continue through the first day of school
Prizes will be pulled on August 19th

Students Entering Grade Six Through Entering Grade Eight: Please visit this website that will give suggested book lists, where to access books, and what to do once you’ve read your books!
Once you return in the fall, you will complete an assignment related to your summer reading with your English teacher.
Milton High School students enrolled in AP classes received access to their summer assignments through Google Classrooms.
