Milton High Artists Shine with 12 Scholastic Art Awards
The creative talent at Milton High School has reached a remarkable milestone this year with our students earning a total of 12 Scholastic Art Awards. This achievement highlights the ongoing success of our students, who continue to thrive and push the boundaries of imagination within the MHS Art Department. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a highly competitive regional competition that serves as a vital platform of expression for creative teens. We are especially excited to see our participation numbers grow each year and couldn’t be more proud of all of our students who submitted work into this years competition.
The diversity of the work submitted this year was truly exceptional. Our students pushed the boundaries of medium and form, submitting everything from large, intricate sculptural vases and realistic paintings to dynamic digital art and bold charcoal pieces. This variety reflects the versatile talent of our student body and their willingness to experiment with different modes of storytelling.
Please join us in celebrating our individual award winners for their outstanding achievements. Alessandra Tuozzolo led the way with an incredible four Gold Keys. Kayla Nguyen received one Gold Key alongside three Honorable Mentions, while Maya Sekhar earned a Gold Key and an Honorable Mention. We also celebrate Samara Solomon-Sanneh for receiving a Silver Key, and Jaydeep Sekhar for being recognized with an Honorable Mention. These students have been recognized not only for their technical skills but for the unique depth of their creative voices.
The work of Gold Key winners will now move on to be judged at the national level, a testament to the high caliber of art being produced by our talented student artists. For those who wish to see these stunning works in person, a display of Gold Key winners will be hosted at Breed Hall on the Tufts University Campus from March 14th through March 22nd. We are so incredibly proud of our students for their dedication, their commitment to their creative process, and the way they continue to inspire the entire Milton High community.
