“Mi Propia Casita” — Identity, Community, and Values
Students in Ms. Gonzalez’s Spanish VI class brought culture and creativity to life through their projects, “Mi Propia Casita.” Each student designed and built a model “casita” representing their cultural identity and sense of community. Every house reflects the heart of the student’s family and the values that shape their everyday life.
Through thoughtful design, creativity, and personal reflection, students explored three key cultural dimensions—products, practices, and perspectives—to show how traditions, objects, and beliefs come together to form a home.
Thank you to all the students, staff, and administration who came to the library to view the exhibit, listen to the Spanish VI students present in English and Spanish, and enjoy the music with themes of family, cultural identity and community by musical artists from around the world.
