Dear MPS Community,

I am pleased to share that the Milton Public Schools will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25, following our two snow days.

Since Sunday night, our MPS custodial team has been working diligently to clear and prepare sidewalks, parking lots, and school entrances to ensure our buildings are safe and ready for students and staff. The Department of Public Works and Facilities has also been working nonstop to clear roads and sidewalks across town as well as our school parking lots. Thanks to these combined efforts, we are prepared to welcome everyone back to school tomorrow.

Given the significant snowfall in Milton and surrounding communities, we recognize that the effects of this storm will be with us for some time. As we return to school, we ask everyone to please keep the following in mind:

Allow extra travel time in the morning, as roads and sidewalks may still be slick
Be especially mindful of students walking to school and waiting at bus stops, particularly where large snowbanks may limit visibility.
Use caution, stay alert and follow all staff directions during drop-off and pick-up
For our high school drivers: parking at MHS was already limited following the previous storm, and this recent snowfall has further reduced available spaces for both students and staff. Whenever possible, please consider carpooling or arranging drop-off and pick-up.

Cooperation and patience will be essential as we return to school.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our custodial staff for their long hours and dedication in preparing our schools, and to the DPW and Facilities Department for their tireless, ongoing efforts to keep our roads and sidewalks clear. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to the safety and well being of our Milton residents and MPS community.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and getting back into our regular routines.
