Students in AP African American Studies recently demonstrated their understanding of African history by creating African ceremonial masks. The course is designed to teach students about history, literature and the arts so students used their understanding of civilizations like Zimbabwe, Mali, Songhai, Ghana and Kilwa and others to create their masks.
African masks are an important ritual in many of Africa's historical civilizations, as they were used in ceremonies and celebrations such as weddings and royal gatherings. Different African nations celebrated their culture through their masks, and they have become part of their history, similar to the traditional wardrobes worn by many other civilizations throughout world history.
Enjoy these pictures of our talented students and their beautiful masks!

Milton Glows Gold in September and so does MPS!
Milton Glows Gold (MGG) was created by the MCM Fund to raise awareness and support for kids battling cancer and to support families with financial assistance. This year, the MCM Fund is hosting Milton Glows Gold in loving memory of Emily L. Butt, who passed away on February 27, 2024, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Emily's vibrant spirit and infectious smile were a gift to all who knew her during her precious eight years of life.
All details on Milton Glows Gold can be found here (www.miltonglowsgold.org) or at the link in our profile. Let's Glow Gold this September, Milton!

Lots of smiles at Milton High School this morning! We are back to school at MPS!

Just a reminder that Massachusetts kids can eat at school for free!
ALL of our MPS students are able to receive a healthy and FREE breakfast and lunch every day to fuel their bodies and keep their minds sharp. FYI, any second lunches and additional a la carte items such as milk, water, snacks will be debited from the student's lunch account.
It is still important for families to fill out free and reduced applications if you feel you may qualify. Applications can be found on the food service page (https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application). Completion of this form can help families qualify for other kinds of assistance, including community opportunities.

We had a wonderful MPS Staff Opening day this morning! Two more sleeps until our grades 1-12 students join us on Wednesday, August 28 - we can't wait to see you!

Congrats to the MSE secret "red shirts" for last and this week! Way to go, Kenny, Daniel, and Maddie!
