Community Schools
MCS prides itself on making the distinction that it is not simply a child care service but in fact, an optional, enrichment out-of-school time program that promotes learning and growth. MCS serves students attending Milton Public Schools in grades K-5 by providing courses focusing on physical activities, the arts, STEM, and social age-appropriate enrichment and recreational activities.
History
MCS was founded in 1982 to provide Milton Public School students in grades K-5 extracurricular activities in a safe enrichment environment. MCS is a self-supporting department of Milton Public Schools. We do not receive funds from Milton Public Schools or grants from state or federal government.
MCS received a Community Builder Award in 2000 for enriching childhood education in Milton.
Announcements:
Thank you to all the families who completed the ASE/ESAP Interest Questionnaires. We are pleased to share that we received a strong response and are providing preliminary results, along with clear next steps.
On May 18th at the Superintendent’s Office, the Director of MCS ran a lottery to determine the order of seat placements for Collicot ASE, Cunningham ASE, and Glover ASE. For Tucker ASE and all four ESAP programs, submitted questionnaires did not exceed available capacity, so no lottery was necessary.
Families will receive email notifications regarding program seat offers and waitlist placements by 5 PM on June 3rd from Milton Community Schools (MCS, mcs@miltonps.org). Please note: If you are offered a spot in a program, time-sensitive steps are required to secure your registration (see chart below).
Please review the information below for further details on what to expect next.
