Group Guidance 9-12 Curriculum:
School Counseling Curriculum is delivered during advisory periods for all four grades. Students access documents and lessons through the "Class of XXXX Group Guidance" Google Classrooms.
Seniors: Group Guidance for seniors focuses on pursuing students' post graduation plans. Applying for employment, Researching military careers, Applying to Trade Unions for apprenticeships, Applying to earn a certificate, Applying to junior, trade or two year colleges, and Applying to four year colleges.
Juniors: In Junior Group Guidance, students focus on the research required to reach the career goals they set in Sophomore Group Guidance. Students perform a college search on Naviance, if college is required for their career goal, and research community colleges, certificates, or trades paths if those are their goals. Juniors are also asked to access their PSAT scores on collegeboard.org, and link their scores to Khan academy to practice free for the SAT. Juniors usually register to take the SAT or ACT in the spring (March, May or June). These standardized tests are offered by many local high schools on Saturdays, and Milton High School offers the SAT in school in early October for seniors.
Sophomores: In Sophomore Group Guidance, students complete a Career Interest Profiler and start a resume' on Naviance. Counselors will use these tools when they see students individually, to help them plan for their futures. Sophomores are also asked to access their PSAT scores by creating accounts on collegeboard.org.
Freshmen: Freshman Group Guidance focuses on making the most of the high school experience: Learning about the graduation requirements, how to get academic help, how to get involved in sports, clubs and activities, and getting to know what School Counselors do at the high school.

988 Lifeline has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), and is now active across the United States.
When people call, text, or chat 988 (www.988lifeline.org to chat), they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
