It's concert season at MPS! Join us for the MHS Extra Curricular Ensembles Concert on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30 PM in the MHS Auditorium.

MPS Holiday Gift Drive
MPS has partnered with My Brother’s Keeper and the Milton Residents Fund to host a gift drive to ensure all Milton Families in need have a wonderful holiday season. The gift drive needs donations of all types of items.
Examples include Legos, dolls representing a diverse array of skin tones/cultures, superhero action figures, arts and craft kits, science/STEM kits, board games, video games, books, a football or basketball, outdoor active toys, or anything with Boston sports teams. No food or violent games, please. $25 Target gift cards are also welcome! Please bring new, unwrapped item(s) to a collection box in the lobby of the elementary schools from December 2-6.
We are once again partnering with local toy shops and encourage you to check out the great toy selections at The Toy Chest in East Milton or The Toy Box in Hanover.
Thank you for helping us make the holiday season a little brighter for our neighbors!

Mrs. Walsh's Cunningham 2nd graders enjoyed a successful trip to the DPW last week! Thank you to Tom McCarthy, Director of Consolidated Facilities, who invited the class in honor of Walshville (a year long exploration of our community) after receiving Henry Liguori’s letter about the DPW. Students toured the facility and learned about the various trucks and jobs.
The class has also had visits from representatives from Milton Police and Fire, the US Post Office, Donahue Real Estate, Animal Control, the Ice Cream Smith, the Collicot Assistant Principal, the Fruit Center and Pleasant St Market. Thank you to all who have taken the time to help our students learn more about their Milton community!

A message from the Milton School Committee
Over the past several years, the Milton School Committee has explored how we can make our district calendar inclusive and more representative of our diverse community. We revised our calendar policy in 2022 to ensure that students celebrating holidays not acknowledged with an official day off would receive necessary accommodations. We are in the process of reviewing our calendar and need your input. We are gathering community input through a survey, a series of open conversations taking place in schools and the November 20 School Committee meeting. We hope all will share their thoughts in one of those ways.
The survey can be found here: https://forms.gle/RmLtV4T6xaFx3k658

Once Upon a Mattress is almost here! ! A hilarious take on “The Princess and the Pea,” Once Upon A Mattress sets an unapologetic free spirit loose in a repressed kingdom, reveling in Winnifred's ability to charm and transform with willpower, honesty, and a little bit of help from her friends.
Don't miss out on seeing our talented MHS Theatre students during four (sure to be sell out) shows on Thursday, November 21st 7pm; Saturday, November 23rd at 2pm and 7pm and Sunday, November 24th at 2pm.

Some of the best days of the year are our school's Veterans Day events. Today, it was Cunningham, with honored Veteran guests, special speakers, student music and an all school flag raising. Thank you to all who have served!

Our MHS students have been on the move with recent field trips to Harvard, MIT, the Museum of Scientific Instruments, an HBCU College Fair, Hancock Hill and NYC for a Broadway Show!
These trips simply would not happen without the creativity and dedication of the MHS staff. These trips take work - planning, driving, securing funding, giving time up out of school - and our MHS staff figures it out and makes it happen!

It's time to shop for our schools!
All info at www.fruitcentermarketplace.com/schools, or scan the QR code to shop for your school.

Earlier in October, our elementary schools hosted almost 100 of their former students for community service during the MHS SAT day. Students helped out in classrooms, read stories to kids, played at recess, and so much more! Thanks to all of our 9th grade volunteers and to our schools for welcoming them!

The Monster Dash is here! Join the fun on Sunday, October 27 at Cunningham Park!

Mrs. Grout's Cunningham kindergarteners enjoyed the book, "The Dot" by local author Peter Reynolds this week. The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing.
We look forward to seeing the many marks these members of Class of 2037 will make in their time at MPS!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!
MPS is proud to support the #GlowGold2024 campaign to raise awareness and show love to families impacted by cancer. This month, we’re joining forces to make a difference. Let’s show our support by registering for the Jumping Jack Challenge at miltonglowsgold.org(link also in bio).
Together, we can make a difference!
