At MHS Information Night, Principal Karen Cahill and Vice Principals Ngoc Tran and Brian Mackinaw will share what makes MHS so special. Academic excellence is an ongoing priority at Milton High School. Our Program of Studies linked below includes classes for all learners at the College Prep, Honors, and Advanced Placement levels. At MHS Information Night, students and families will take tours of our campus, meet student leaders and hear from Curriculum Directors.

A message from the Milton School Committee
Over the past several years, the Milton School Committee has explored how we can make our district calendar inclusive and more representative of our diverse community. We revised our calendar policy in 2022 to ensure that students celebrating holidays not acknowledged with an official day off would receive necessary accommodations. We are in the process of reviewing our calendar and need your input. We are gathering community input through a survey, a series of open conversations taking place in schools and the November 20 School Committee meeting. We hope all will share their thoughts in one of those ways.
The survey can be found here: https://forms.gle/RmLtV4T6xaFx3k658

Once Upon a Mattress is almost here! ! A hilarious take on “The Princess and the Pea,” Once Upon A Mattress sets an unapologetic free spirit loose in a repressed kingdom, reveling in Winnifred's ability to charm and transform with willpower, honesty, and a little bit of help from her friends.
Don't miss out on seeing our talented MHS Theatre students during four (sure to be sell out) shows on Thursday, November 21st 7pm; Saturday, November 23rd at 2pm and 7pm and Sunday, November 24th at 2pm.

MHS Best Buddies had a blast their annual Halloween Party. Students were able to trick-or-treat, play bingo, compete in the mummy wrap and much more! Keep an eye out for upcoming Best Buddies events and join the fun!

At the end of October, the MHS Poetry Club hosted an Open Mic Night in the MHS courtyard. Almost one hundred students showed up and shared their voices and lyrical talents at this beautiful event that brought a diverse student audience together. It was a heartwarming evening filled with inspiring performances, supportive applause, and a strong sense of community.
One student reflected, "I found Open Mic Night to be an engaging and fun experience. It was a nice event to hang out with friends while also being able to hear people’s thoughts through creative forms of literature. The weather, decorations, and hot chocolate created a cozy atmosphere that was enjoyable."

Our MHS students have been on the move with recent field trips to Harvard, MIT, the Museum of Scientific Instruments, an HBCU College Fair, Hancock Hill and NYC for a Broadway Show!
These trips simply would not happen without the creativity and dedication of the MHS staff. These trips take work - planning, driving, securing funding, giving time up out of school - and our MHS staff figures it out and makes it happen!

It's time to shop for our schools!

Earlier in October, our elementary schools hosted almost 100 of their former students for community service during the MHS SAT day. Students helped out in classrooms, read stories to kids, played at recess, and so much more! Thanks to all of our 9th grade volunteers and to our schools for welcoming them!

Big thanks to MHS Theatre's Stephen and Laura Markarian for taking 50 students to NYC last weekend to see Once Upon A Mattress on Broadway! What a fantastic opportunity for so many of our students to see a Broadway show.
Word from the theater staff was that our MHS students were the best behaved group of high schoolers they’ve ever had in attendance . We say - no surprise there!

The Monster Dash is here! Join the fun on Sunday, October 27 at Cunningham Park!

MHS Field Hockey had a tough match last week - against their parents! The yellow cards were plentiful and lots of fun was had by all. Way to take it easy (ish) on the old folks, girls!
